Spoke torque wrench recommendation
« on: February 17, 2021, 06:57:43 AM »
I have a few Loop wheels and some Brit wheels I am rebuilding. I would like to get a good spoke torque wrench. Any recommendations / experience?

I bought this one when I needed to lace four wheels for my 2014 Ural Gear Up. It worked very well; easy to use, no annoyances. I have no way of knowing how accurate it is.

I don't know what size your spoke nipples are; there's quite a selection in this kit. When I bought my 2020 Gear Up, I found that it has 7.0 mm spoke nipples. Pit Posse doesn't sell that size, but I found one from another manufacturer that fits and works perfectly. Since sidecar rigs have a lot of side-loading on the wheels, I check spoke tension every time a wheel is off, and this tool makes it easy (of course, it can be used with the wheel on the bike, but I am also checking lateral runout).
