It is a bit underwhelming but a nice cast piece of some sort might be a bit garish.

Why de-tune it to 65hp? isn't the V85 listed 80hp on paper? saving the 80hp version for the V7 racer?

Let's hope so!  I would love to own a racer in Italian national colors, but with 80hp, it better come with upside down forks, dual disks, and the Ohlins rear suspension.

I have thought from the start that if any ONE model in the V7 line could make more power and have both better brakes/suspension it should be the "Racer" or at this point a new LeMans.

They should offer the ability to order a bike how you want it; an option sheet as you will.

Single or Dual Gauges
Paint -- select from any of the paint schemes available on the stone or special.
Color Matched side covers and fenders, vs. black as on the stone (including matching the Stone tank colors if desired).
Wheels -- cast or wire

This would certainly help differentiate the Racer/LeMans model, and make it more worthy of either name.

That is why I made it a point to use the paint colors they already have, wheels, gauges, etc they already have.
 There is no reason it needs to cost more.  Plug the orders in the ERP system, generate build sheets for the shop floor, and they just pick the correct parts (from what they already have) to build it.

I agree with Chad.  I think the factory loses it after the siesta break. If the company cafeteria is like Ducati's.....bottles of wine are opened for the executive lunchroom and the worker's cafeteria has wine & birra on the line.  If they have a bar, shots of grappa before heading back to the assembly line.   

The old factory in Mandello had Hardy's across the street for their shots of grappa before heading back to assembly line.

I still like the look of the V9 Bobber Sport more than the new V7. Maybe the Sport will get the more powerful engine next year (probably not).

according to robb  report  the stone price $8990.00    the special price $9490.00 they show blue,  and a grigio casual which is grey have not seen

this color yet. I have av85tt I'm selling or trading just too tall and  heavy for me, besides I have a lowered dr650 for my off roading needs

I have to say I'm quite disappointed. Is that the best they can do with the new 850cc motor.
They're both missed opportunities, who wants a Bonneville look alike or another V7 - single disk,  standard forks,  and twin shocks for crying out loud.

Agreed. I’m happy they kept the V7 looking as it does. Can’t beat a classic look. And judging from the teaser image, I think we’re smelling a sporty “modern” something on the horizon.

Of course I would, why do you think I'm disappointed. 
I'm looking for a new bike, have had 4 Guzzis over the last 15 years,  currently riding a 1200 Sport - the flash red and white one.  But at 70 I'm finding it a little/lot too heavy to push around, on the road I'm fine, but I'm not as strong as I once was.
Hence I'm looking for a new bike and nothing Guzzi is offering fits the bill. And no,  I don't want a V7 with it's old style looks AND equipment, and the new V7 850 is no better which is a real shame because I'm a Guzzi man.
So as much as it pains me,  I'm looking at one of these

Yep. I have a Stornello and love it, but lacks in the performance area on all levels. Same with all the other V7's. Delightful and full of fun, but if something is going to replace my 13 year old 1200Sport or 14 year old Griso, it has to be MORE..... A V9 or V7 isn't going to cut it, and I really do NOT like the ADV look of the V85.  I can't believe they haven't released a sportish street version of the full V85 motor. The new V7/9 is NOT the same motor. Has a different crank, and TB/ECU, maybe even different heads. I highly doubt the full V85 motor is peaked.

Piaggio has a huge parts bin and bits, and a V85 Lemans would be an easy reach IMNSHO.... With how popular the V85 has been, you would think they would. Don't misunderstand, I think the progression and evolution of the V7/9 is a GOOD thing, and hope they sell like crazy, but they are mostly entry level bikes. The V85 is a great bike, but is a particular niche. The 1400 series bikes are dead, but even so are so over built/bloats and heavy. Guzzi needs a middle weight line based off the V85 that could be a sport standard (NOT classic) and even a V85 based Sport Touring bike.  With the right ergo's they will also be a huge hit. 

Guzzi needs a new Marque flagship bike, and an ADV or V7/9 can't be it.........
