Quota blowing oil out the final drive :(

Final drive leak???? :(
Got the rear end oil changed with the moly and went out for a ride. Came back with oil all over the hub, rim and wheel. Coming out the top plug. I looked closer and see the plug has a small hole in it and the rubber plug that goes in the allen hex also has a small vent hole in it too. I let it sit for over an hour with the drain plug out and even tipped the bike a bit to make sure all the oil drained out. Put 230cc oil and 20cc moly. Why is it leaking and what do I need to do to fix it?

As far as I remember, there is no venting on the Quota final drive, at least not on the 1100ES. Are you sure it's not the final drive seal?  When I had oil/moly being flung out on my rear wheel, that was the case.

99.9% sure it is coming out the fill plug. The allen head has oil all in it and the little holes in the plug and rubber stopper for the plug both have small holes in them. Looks like they were made that way and not modified. I'll check the part numbers and see what I can find. Easy fix if I can just plug the little holes. Thanks.

I checked the Quota part number 12022600 and found it is also the transmission filler plug that does not have a hole. I just put some high temp RTV in it to plug the hole. Hopefully that will be enough to hold it. Thanks again for the easy fix.

Did you use synthetic or dino in the final drive?

100% synthetic. Could that make a difference?

Waiting for the RTV to cure fully before testing the sealing.
