Nice article. Ivar contributed a huge amount to maintaining the history of Guzzi.A couple of minor nits with the article might be that as I understand it the factory location was picked on the basis of where Parodi senior owned land (I didn’t think it was Carlo Guzzi’s home town) and the Centauro was not to my knowledge designed by Miguel Galuzzi - he worked for Cagiva in the 90s.
Ivar has ties to New York. His wife is from there. Guzzi friends there are the godparents to Ivar and Amy's children. Some time ago, I went to one of the New York Guzzi breakfasts where he gave us a 3 hour talk and slide show about the history of Guzzi. At one time, and perhaps still, a number of the bikes in the museum in Mandello belong to Ivar. He, his father, and grandfather, were personal friends of Carlo and would be welcomed into the factory any time they stopped by. His telling of the history of the company was nothing short of amazing. Little things that never make it into the history books. He and his family are among the nicest folks I have ever had the privilege of meeting. At the time, the kids were pretty young and I was amazed just how well they behaved sitting in a small restaurant while he regaled us with all sorts of tidbits about Guzzi.John Henry
A very nice article, with some glaring omissions among the last few decades - notably, the CARC bikes are not even mentioned.
