Why all the V85TT’s for sale?

I’ve thought about selling/trading mine. It does a lot of things well but does nothing perfectly. I have another bike in mind that I’d like to buy and space is at a premium so I’ll probably have to get rid of a bike before I get another.

Yes I am!  My 1200 Sport does everything I ask it to do.

Every time I ride it, I am amazed, thrilled and thankful I found this bike. It was designed and built for me!

I had a 1200 Sport for a long time, and absolutely loved it.
I sold it to purchase my V85TT, and now I don't miss the 1200 Sport at all.

The V85TT is a good entry-level ADV-tourer (for a porker). Some riders are going to ‘try out’ this one more quickly than say a KTM, Aprilia, 1200 GS, Pan American, or Africa Twin. Those things are investments, whereas you’re not losing too much when buying the goofy Guzzi transverse v-twin. People buy vehicles all the time and experience buyer’s remorse at some point, whether immediately or eventually. At least with the V85TT, they’re not breaking the bank too terribly as they would like one of the others I mentioned. If it’s not adventurous enough, they move onto one that it is. If not enough of a tourer, they move on to one that is. Like a mid-weight standard, it tries to do a little bit of everything, but won’t do any of it exceptionally. Besides, a lot of people THINK they want to be adventurous, buy into the marketing, and share pics of them out on some fire road, but once that exploration bug wears off, I imagine a dedicated road tourer looks more appealing.

I see you've never sold a Guzzi. Then brand where you buy low and sell even lower.

Maybe in part because it’s Guzzi biggest seller in years.   There are simply more of them, hence you would expect to see more for sale.

I suspect bad chad has the most accurate answer in this thread.  High sales and the 100th anniversary editions with tubeless wheels are now available probably causing some to trade up. 

I've been happy with mine and currently have no urge to sell it.  It's probably one of the best all around bikes I've ever owned.

"Thrilled', like many other adjectives, is totally subjective. Yes, I'm thrilled with my V85 in that it does everything I ask of it effortlessly and comfortably. It's not a 'thrilling' bike in the way my past sport or MX bikes were but there's no way I could live with one of those as my current daily rider. My Griso was very close and I loved the big block power but it wasn't so good on rough / unpaved roads nor was it particularly kind to my back. Almost went Stelvio but it's too big and my V7 was sweet but too small. The V85 is just right for ME and I'm thrilled with it, but clearly it's not for everyone.

This!  If you look at Craigslist there are always a million Harleys for sale.  It's not because everyone is getting rid of their Harley, it's because it's the #1 selling bike in the US.  More TTs sold = more TTs for sale.

I haven't ridden one yet myself, but I sat on one at Cadre this weekend and I was completely surprised by how light it felt coming off the side stand.  Ergos felt about right, I could see one in my garage someday.

Ok, I’m one of those ADV type of guys, not that I’m a big off-roader, gravel now and then, but ADV bikes generally have good suspensions, and do well with a load. We have a weekly ride here, about 150 miles of questionable road conditions. When we debrief after the ride, most of the sport/ naked bike riders complain about the rough roads, I just smile, cause I’m a function over form guy. As for the V85 tt, it’s my 8th Guzzi, and by far the best, engine, fit and finish, and comfort.
