A really iconic machine.

Looking at the comments, it appears there is a little matter regarding the frame number. BaT certainly did the right thing in withdrawing the auction.

A local guy paid $60k for a restored Black Shadow.   I put up the thread and photos here about 5 years ago.  I found him on the road trying to kick start the beast.  We had to push it home.  He later told be that it starts and runs fine now.

I'm sure that he got a better offer than $45K......

After further review of the comments, the bike was removed because
the engine and frame numbers didn't match, and the VOC didn't
have a record of a bike built with that combination of numbers. So
until that's sorted, the bike was removed from the auction.

BAT DID do the right thing here.....

Agreed...and there you go!

Plus, a Rapide and a genuine Black Shadow are in two different price categories, yes?

For sure. What's a Black Lightning go for these days?

I've often wondered how a Black Shadow would compare to a G5 or SP1000. ( both carbed, air cooled, 1000ish cc twins. )
