If I ruled the world…

I would mandate that in order to get your cycle license, every applicant (after passing all the cycle testing) would ride in a car with the instructor. Each car would have a hole in the floorboard, 9 inches in diameter. The last thing an applicant would need to do would be to reach down through that hole, at 50 mph and touch the asphalt with a finger! Once they do that, the test is complete, and they’ve earned their riders license,

Now they have a pretty good idea what that asphalt feels like at 50mph and hopefully they decide to wear some protective gear. and not shorts, bikinis, and flip flops!

If you ruled the world, what would you mandate?

Make sure every child receives the best medical care and a safe place to call home..Reduce the penalties for punching a jerk in the nose..give Mount Rushmore back to the Indians..Buy a cop a cup of coffee...make using a cell phone while driving punishable by spending a day in stocks while passerby's throw rotten vegetables at you.. recommend smiling  at the garbage man...kiss  your wife  ,take your kids for a walk in the woods..hold a kitten...

I was serious.

40 years ago my front end washed out on a curve at 50mph. I met the asphalt in jeans and a t shirt with no boots or gloves. I smacked the road with my right side and helmet. It happened in slow motion.  Next I slid then rolled. I got skinned up on my side with burns on my hands from trying to break the fall and roll. Still have the scars. I think of that fall EVERY TIME I strap on my helmet.

So when I see kids riding their crotch rockets in shorts and a cut off t-shirt and they have their babe on the back in a bikini and flip flops, I shake my head.

If they only knew what the asphalt feels like at speed they might protect themselves better.

Stop going easy on these kids and what better way then to let them “Feel the asphalt.” That might shake some sense into them..

I would outlaw single ply toilet paper . I can tell this ones going places!

Program all cell phones to detect if they are being hand held and used while in the drivers seat, 1st time shut down the phone for 24 hours, second time lock the phone permantly. 

This because I almost got taken out by a driver this morining using her phone while driving her SUV passing me in the right hand lane and just cutting over into my lane right beside me. I gave her the horn and she just unrolled her window, waved and sped off.
