Riding the V85TT in rain mode?
« on: September 30, 2021, 10:43:48 AM »
Saw someone mentioned in passing on another thread that they regularly ride in rain mode--has anyone else done this and found those same results. I need to try this out of curiosity

I've run Dirt mode on the street between off-road sections and don't see any difference than the rear ABS being turned off. Very interested to get impressions on Rain mode. Will try it myself on the next ride.

I hit rain mode once by mistake on a long trip and didn’t know the difference the way I ride.

As I posted in the other thread, the only difference that I notice in Rain Mode is that the throttle response does not ramp up so quickly around say 1/3 - 1/2 throttle, as it does in Road Mode. Otherwise there’s no difference that I can feel, although I suppose there’s might be some difference in ABS sensitivity or something else’s i haven’t felt.

The Rode Mode throttle sensitivity increase feels a bit contrived to me, like they were trying to make it feel artificially sporty.  I’m finding I prefer the more linear throttle feel in Rain Mode even when sport riding, even if it means you have to twist the throttle slightly more at times.
