Today was one of those glorious autumn days where the temperature is perfect, the roads are empty, the sky is blue and the leaves are just beginning to turn.
Nick, in Maine it was much the same.

I was able to get out in the late afternoon for a sample of suchlike. I even got to see two of my favorite trees in town.
(Yes, I have favorite trees in the autumn!)
One of them, a tree on Rt. 27 is bit subdued in it's orange finery this year. The other, a giant old Sugar maple at
the intersection of the West Road and the Castle Island Road in town, hasn't yet reached it's full glory.
Still -a beautiful ride on an Indian Summer day. Tomorrow we head to Rangeley and Oquassic on the big
California Touring to sample the scenery.
