Another Guzzi Geezer rides the sky
« on: November 04, 2021, 06:09:29 PM »

Peter from Sch'dy recently passed away.
Peter was a life long wheels guy. It started with a homemade go cart with a lawn mower engine and a wood frame back in the early 60's.

Then came bikes!!!! Can anyone ID this bike? It was the first one.

After that it was on to more and more wheels. I remember Moto Parilla or Piranha, Bultaco's, MG's....... Then came Guzzi!!! Our oldest brother bought the first in the family, the 1973 V7 in his Memorial pic above. Peter was hooked on Italian. His first is an orange brush painted V700. That is currently just a rolling frame at a buddies shop with a beater side hack to help marry the two. He always had a hard time selling bikes. His current basket cases are, that V700, T, T-3 and a Mark 2 Lemans.

mekong native crossword

(that he took from me with good cause) plus lots of miscellaneous parts is parts. Current runners are an Ambassador, Eldorado, V7, Ducati 900SS, Ducati Monster and a Norge.
He always loved to travel to look at and talk bikes. He went to tons of local Guzzi rallies and we tried to go to IMOC every year.
When he retired from GE in 2015 he bought this rig.

In 2016 we drove out to the southwest to meet friends and tour. We spent 4 weeks on the road. During that we hit the rally at Broken Arrow?

Then in 2018 we went to the PNW for 8 weeks. We did Mid-Ohio Vintage days, Michigan, Iowa and Washington state rallies.
Both epic trips!!!! (the Peterbilt was a Canadian gents)

This year we did the ADK NY, NH 100 year anniversary and VA rallies.
He tried to ride every day. As he aged he said he wouldn't ride unless the temperature was at least his age (67 this year). This summer I did 7500 miles with him mostly local. He had to have doubled that. I'd bet he rode 1 million plus miles in his life!!! The Norge has over 100,000, one of the loops has over 100k, the other has about 76k, plus all his other bikes. He lived to ride.
Even though he was my brother and we fought like cats and dogs (he was always right, you just had to ask him!), He was my best friend and I miss him terribly!!!

He was more of a lurker on Wild Guzzi but read it all the time. I am going to send a donation in his honor.
Also, some of his bikes and parts will be for sale, not the Lemans or V7(they are staying in the family).
He would want to give you folks dibs. I'll post in the swap meet as his estate settles.
Thank you all for your friendship.
Paul

Nice memorial. All anyone can ask is to be remembered fondly. Obviously, this will be *very* hard for you. Keep your head up and remember the good times. Time will lessen the pain.

Very sorry for your loss...Your memorial is very touching...

I believe this bike is a modified Honda-S-90 from the mid-to-late 1960's...

Thank you folks for all your kind thoughts. He was a good man and brother but........two pieces of advise.
WRITE A WILL NOW!! Enough said.
BUCKET LIST. Life is short. Work on it now! One of our items on the list was a trip to Isle of Man for the TT. I will be reaching out to you folks for advise and travel tips for 2023?? I am going to spread some of his ashes there.
We are also going to get some riding buddies together and dust his ashes off the back of the bikes on some of our favorite roads.

Thanks Again
Paul
