Camp Carlo?
« on: December 16, 2021, 08:33:38 AM »
I haven't been to Daytona for speed week in too many years. Back in the day most of the campsites at Lake Monroe Park were filled w/Guzzisti, there were parties at different sites most nights and absolutely awesome group meals. Is any of that still happening these days? I guess I'm asking about 2019 as 2020 was a "lost' year (in more ways than one).

Thinking about the post, it should have read 2020-21 being disrupted. Was there a "Camp Carlo" in March of 2020? I cancelled my first 3rd Saturday monthly Va Guzzi Riders lunch in March of '20. In June '20 I started scheduling them at outside locations, (park picnic pavilions) BYO food. We had our first restaurant lunches in April & May '21, both at restaurants with outside seating. and finally back to a normal restaurant lunch in June of this year. Hopefully what's going on now across the world won't have us back-sliding into avoiding groups gathering indoors again.

Yes camp Carlo still happens i have a site reserved. Had 1 last year but didn't make it, though I hear it did get used. They only allow 7 nights consecutive so I'm scheduled for Sunday the 6th through Sunday the 13th. It is not as well attended as years past but still a good time.

Have to agree with Chris, I didn't make it last year but Ill be calling this week to book a site. Its still a good time even with all the restrictions from the county.
