Hmm…
As I was assembling the converter oil pump on my Convert I found a contradiction in the Work Shop Manual (or maybe just in my head).
The two rotors are marked and the marks are supposed to go on the same side. My question is: what side?
From Gregory Benders fantastic site
https://www.thisoldtractor.com/mg_manuals/workshop_manual_convert.pdf Looking at fig 272, it looks as if the marks “1” should go
towards the camshaft. However, on page 140 the manual states;
“First pay attention that, when mounting the pump onto the valve gearing cover, the two rotors show the reference mark “1” outwards...” What does “outwards” refer to? Outside the engine? That would mean
away from the camshaft.So, does anyone know how to position the rotors?
