Thanks folks.
We don't eat in our cars. We've both actually kept our vehicles very neat over the years.
My plan is to be home tomorrow by lunch time to take my wife out to lunch in it. By the time i get home I'll have a pretty impression of how it drives. Frankly, I'm expecting it to be just like my wife's 2020 Ford Edge since the two vehicles share so much stuff between them. I see that as a good thing since a. She can easily drive it when she has too as she'll already be familiar with it from driving her Edge for a year. And I am one who is retired. My wife still works. Guess who takes the car in for service while she's at work? LOL And b. Over the past year I have come to really like her Ford Edge. That is a really competent car! If my "Edge trucklette" (Maverick) has a small bed in the back vice a hatch, I like that just fine.

WAIT - WHAT?!?

Why would one not, and why would the two be mutually exclusive.

Whether it's breakfast in the Jeep:

Tacos in the forest:

Lobster grilled cheese and chicken nuggets after soccer...

Or skipping school and having a 3 course meal in the Rover on the way to the mountain for skiing/boarding...

Drive to EAT - EAT to Drive...

or something like that!

Congrats!  Look forward to hearing your first ride report!  The Maverick doesn't work for me for truck needs, but my wife will be looking into a new car the next year or so and I am working hard to get her to consider the Maverick.

As for eating in the cars, I keep my cars neat and clean, at all times, and have some Meguiars wipes and toothpicks. My cars look new for the most part. But I do eat in the daily drivers. That said, the 912 is a 'water only' vehicle, and I only eat in the Bullitt when on road trips.

The Lovey Mrs Bulldog, while not messy is on this kick where she brings on EVERY trip: A Yeti of Ice Water; A Contiga Coffee Mug; A Yeti sipper thing with her protein smoothie......... Plus ziplock bags of carrots, nuts, sliced apples, a cooler with snacks, sandwiches, SALAD, etc ets... It takes a week to clean out her side of the truck...... lol

*Kev,  I really like the rear port windows in the Defender. Test drove one for fun over the Christmas break, and this was a pleasant surprise....

Speaking of eating, you know what else we love - the center console fridge!

Ohhh, and one more thing, did the one you test drive have the "Clear-Sight" rear view mirror? Talk about something I never knew I needed before. I  can pile crap in the back up to the ceiling and I have a complete (much better/wider view) of everything out the rear through the mirror, because it's a camera mounted to the antenna fin on the back of the roof. Driving to the mountain in fresh snow with the rear window absolutely caked didn't matter, I could see perfectly out of that mirror.

MAVERICK content - I've said before as a former Subaru Baja owner I totally get this truck. And honestly I'm sure it's much more stout than my Baja (which wasn't bad, just more car-like). I'm definitely shopping for a truck next time I add something to the fleet (keeping the Jeep and hopefully the Defender) but I'm torn. I like our trucks to be as off-road capable as reasonably possible to reach the OBX place. Maybe that's stupid if I have TWO other vehicles that can do it. I'm sure the Maverick with the off-road package would be capable, it's not that...it's just that it has a high bar to clear if it's gonna be AS capable as my lifted Wrangler or the self-lifting Defender (never mind the locking diffs etc.). I'm definitely gonna check it out when the time comes, but it's hard to compare it to say a Nissan Pro4x or Jeep Gladiator for that use, even if it probably blows those two away for everything else for which I'd use it. Hmmmm, definitely looking forward to hearing more reports on this gorgeous Blue one!!!

Got it home this afternoon. Now I have a pile of manuals to study. ;-) Loved the way it drove and handled bringing it back here!

Have 80 miles on it today now. Driving impression: Effortless smooth power from the drivetrain. Hits hiway speeds in just a few seconds. The 8 speed is flawless and smooth. Steering is on the heavy side, but very precise. You move that wheel even a tiny bit and you're starting to turn. Tracks very straight as well. That said, I really like it. I drove us 40 miles to dinner and back tonight out to another city. State route and 60 mph zone. Of course I was the only one doing 60. 😉 Car got 34 mpg for that trip. Its rated at 30 hiway, so was very happy. Excellent dash lighting at night. The headlamps are perfect. This is very comfortable to cruise in.

Mine came with the Ford weathertek mats similar to your jeep. They are really nice! My kids are in their 30s, so not many messes in my vehicles anymore. They have their own messy kids to raise now!

Mine came with the WT style mats too.  About the only difference I see is that they are a bit lighter weight than the WT.  Nice that you're seeing that kind of mileage, I'm averaging about 26-28.  Its also been cold here and have been using my remote start.  Ford really hit the mark with this little truck
If you can beat them, arrange to have them beaten.

LOL. Yeah, lighter than WT, but still quite a bit of rubber there. Its like Tupperware for the floor! AND they have "Maverick" molded right into them ;-)
I guess my next accessory will have to be the carbon fiber decals for the door sill that say Maverick too!

For those of you wondering how you could pack your Maverick to attend a rally, this is pretty funny.
