30 degrees at race time, eh?

Cold tires, cold suspension, fuel mileage calculations off - good times!

6+ F here right now in central Maine and snowing like mad. Wind is picking up a little, too.

I was checking the weather.  It was 20 degrees cooler in Daytona than here in Okla City.

Just finished watching the race.  This race is a flat out sprint race for 24 hours. Didn't use to be years ago.  Tried to save your car until the last 3 hours.  Not anymore. WFO from the green flag.  Hard to imagine that there can be that close of racing over that length of time in those temps.  Hats off to all involved.  Super good sports car racing.  I will see them at Sebring in March along with the European cars.  Haven't been to Sebring in 15 years so looking forward to it.

When do they ever race on cold tires, they heat them up with electric heaters,I imagine that also applies to any other parts that perform better hot.

They are not allowed to use tire warmers in this series.  The tires are to be placed in their normal staging area, ie ready on the other side of the wall for when the car comes in for tire change & fuel.  The teams are not supposed to alter their normal patten and "store" the tires in a trailer or tent where it would be warmer and then quickly rush them out to the car.
