When things go wrong / right
« on: February 04, 2022, 02:29:43 PM »
I have collected Guzzi parts for some time now, the odd drive box or other hard part etc. Today I came across a use for one of my collected parts a, 7/33 rear drive unit. The Mille GT has around 40k miles on the clock and I'm doing a slight makeover for the next riding season, got the SP fairing painted and on last fall when I also discovered the cracking in the original Akront rear rim. I have sourced a set of correct Series 2 alloy wheels ( Thanks Black Cat ) and ( Thanks Teo Lamers ). I decided that since one needed refinishing I would have both refinished in a gold to match the pinstriping on the bike. The fork lowers were looking a little shabby so why not paint them black, if they go black why not paint the drive box which is also looking a bit shabby as well, black will contrast well with the new gold wheels. Off comes the drive box and out comes the pinion, oh what's this galling at the root of the pinion teeth, hmm don't we have another 7/33 box, why yes we do, are the teeth looking good, why yes they are! Some clean up to do but there you have it, I collected something useful! For once!

From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.

Yeah, I wonder how many times I've shifted that box here and there in the last 20 years. Now I have a useless one to shift along to someone else or somewhere else!
