bike lift
« on: March 17, 2022, 07:49:25 PM »
weeks ago, I call a guy that makes a bike lift, saw it on youtube it seems to work.  he never got back to me. so to nite  I took a old chicken house pully, pulled the roller off and some 1" strap connect roller on one end and connect the other end to 1" square tubing and then and then I installed a d ring about 8" down from the roller which I install on the end.  I have a min 500 lb. come a long.  hook the one end of the come along to d ring and run the  small chain over the roll on top of the  1" sq. tubing.  hangs down about 6' which come a long hook connect something on the lower end of bike, and then crank away on come a long.  I really think it's going to work.  to late tonight to try it.Rudy

let me make sure it will work.  I know it will work.  I'm going to put a Harley kick stand base on the of my bike lift sq. tubing 3/4' sq. tubing inside my 1' sq tubing.  that way lift rod as long as I want. collapse 3/4" into the 1".  then I will slide the lift rod into a length of tubing under the muffler on lift side of my v85.  the little come a long you can hold in one hand., just put in saddle bag. that my plaine. I used leftover parts from when I was in the home medical equipment business. A Surehands lift and care systems rail and trolley and a chain hoist. Got me some fresh skins on the T7 headed for the Buffalo river area Sunday. 1st stop RUSH  :thumb:

John funny you mentioned hospital stuff. in my rent house repair, someone left a new hospital bed with the tubing. I used it for my lift.  John if I'm round I ride up.Rudy

it works, really well.  and I tipped it over on a little hill. I just had a little block of plywood under the leg.  no scratches or bends either.  guess I will need to build some kits and call it a Tank Track lifter, that can be used for other things.  that way may I won't not need product liability.  I used the kick stand bracket, strongest pica of iron on the frame.Rudy

The track is like heavy uni-strut. the trolley rolls in the track. The track is hanging from uni-strut above the ceiling joists connected bt a strut nut and 3/8 all thread

I connected pully roller between to pica of 1" flat strap then that to the i" square tubing.  to cute cost going to look for a heavy for a heavy duty 1" ratch strap.  then look for a good heavy duty office chair roller, to take place of the puller roller. X 2 model, so to speak. Rudy
