The central east coast is getting more than usual rainfall, but the temperatures are not particularly cold.
Maximums are around 16-22 depending on latitude.
Northern Australia is usually around 30 deg C year ‘round, but rainfall varies markedly.

This may come under the heading of necromancy but a search brings up some predictions.  The below is Jan-Feb 2023:

Precipitation:

Temperatures:

We here in the East seem to be looking at above average temperatures and precipitation in January and February.

Currently slightly off the north west coast, its miserable 18  overnight 22-24 during the day. Further south the cooler days are associated with clear skies so if its raining it's usually a bit warmer. Further south temps are within the variation you'd expect, the grain growers in the region have had bumper years the last couple of years in a row.

6 months ahead forecast is not science, it is mathematical probably based on statistics of the past.  Math verses science.

Predictions always get better up to and including the day of.

Everyone has short term memory when it comes to past weather for some reason.

The UK has recorded its highest ever temperature today, just over 40 degrees. It may not seem much to you colonial boys, but we're not set up for it here.
