Word on the street is that there will be some top brass there. What will the weather be like? Some know me and I'd hate to get caught in the rain and get my bike dirty.

I'll be there but, in a car, with the heat and other issues its the safer way for me.

Sadly, I can't make it.  Wife is ill, so I must balance priorities.  As we age this stuff happens.

Seven of the 43 were State Reps ( I Think ).
Weather was so hot kept a more than few  away.
Randy's $10 Lunch was the best Deal Around, and only one cheaper is the Texas Free Lunch 10/29.
Anne ( TX ) Rep Came to NH this year,  Randy is a regular down in Tx
In bone head of the Year I forgot my camera, my phone pics were a disappointment.
 But a Really Nice day
Thank You Randy and his Helpers

New Hampshire One-Day Rally
by
Steven Rossi

Momentum is a wonderful force to reckon with. In our case, it’s the impetus that allows good folks like Randy and Natalie Tefft to pick right up from where they left off with another Guzzi gathering in the great State of New Hampshire.
You may recall that they hosted the 49th Annual MGNOC Rally in Keene last year (their second National…the first being in 2015) in celebration of the 100th Anniversary. It was anxiously awaited since so many previous events had been canceled due to the dreaded Chinese cootie plague.
But that was then, and this is now. So it was time to revert back to the one-day formula at the lakeside Surry Mountain Recreation Area in nearby Surry, New Hampshire. With all the pieces in place, Randy and Natalie’s mission was to get the band back together and that they did…with utmost effectiveness and efficiency. As usual.
So some 50+ Guzzi guys and gals from Maine to New Jersey…and all Northeast points in between (with some further still)…found themselves beneath the shady Aspen Pavilion on Saturday, July 23. Because IT WAS HOT!
This year’s all-you-can-eat fare included BBQ Chicken and Pulled Pork sandwiches. Along with copious quantities of various salads, cake and drinks…to help stay hydrated. For a mere $10. The usual tire kicking and bike watching session migrated from the parking lot to a tree covered grassy area beside the Pavilion in deference to the sun.
   Moto Guzzi representation ran the gamut from early Ambassadors to the most recent V85 TT “Centenario” editions. Including;
      Ambassador (2)            Stelvio
      Eldorado (2)               V7 Stone (2)
      V50 III                  V7 Special
      V11 EV (4)                 V7 850 Special
      Jackal                  California 1400 (2)
      Sessantacinque GT            V85 TT (3)
      1100 Breva (2)                    V85 TT Travel
      1200 Sport…sort of (2)         V85 TT Centenario (3)
      Griso

Of special note was the presence of a Moto Guzzi Sessantacinque GT, which is essentially a small-block, 650cc version of a Mille. It’s been described as follows; “The GT differs from the standard V65 in a number of ways besides aesthetics. The front forks were longer and 38 mm diameter instead of 35. This gives the bike more rigidity in the front end and more ground clearance for exploring. It has all the strengths and weaknesses of the 2 valve small-block series. The sitting position is quite upright. The wide flattish bars give good control and the light nimble steering makes direction changes quick and easy. This all adds up to a bike that is well suited to around town and moving in traffic.”
Registered on a Massachusetts license plate, this has to be the only one in the country, which was brought by a relative who imported it from an overseas family member on the other side. By the way, “Sessantacinque” translates to sixty-five.
After lunch, New Hampshire State Rep. Randy Tefft said a few words and welcomed the numerous other State Reps. who were on hand. Including…Galen Burke (Maine), Tom Halchuk (Massachusetts), Yours Truly (Connecticut), Keith Smith (Northern New York), Cam Conklin (New Jersey) and Georganne Foster (Texas). They/we each gave brief updates on recent goings-on and upcoming activities.
Then, Bethel, Connecticut’s well-recognized (sole) dealer…Jim Hamlin…(who brought two of his homegrown, 1200 Sport hot rod conversions) took the opportunity to thank participants for their continued support. Jim also updated attendees on the imminent arrival of the V100 Mandello milestone which is expected by the end of the year.
In closing, a commemorative Moto Guzzi quilt was unveiled by Terry Davis. It was made up of old rally T-shirts which were patched together…and was simply exquisite. She created the work of art for a king-sized bed. Though it was obviously too toasty to enjoy in Surry. Did I say it was hot?
So when it comes to the well-established inertia behind the 2022 New Hampshire One-Day Rally, the online urban dictionary sums it up best. “Momentum enables you to start thinking clearly, see that your goals are reachable, and find a sense of purpose, power, and direction. Learning how to build momentum is, therefore, one of the first steps to finding success in life.”
By having fun in the sun, in beautiful New Hampshire…with Randy, Natalie and 50 more like-minded Guzzisti!

Nice summary of the rally. I hope for a repeat next year.

My father was a devoted Guzzista, the V65GT being his thrid one.
He would have been ecstatic to tell you all about his bike.  Thanks for mentioning it.
It was idle for some time and took me a couple years to bring it back to life.
It's in good enough shape now, but there are still a few issues to address (see V65GT thread in the Builds section).
So I'll see you at other events this summer.
