300,000 anyone…?

Today on my Norge, I was musing at the possibility of it getting to 300,000 k
I know there are older trusty Guzzi’s that have 200,000 miles, but how much of the “Grandfather’s axe” thing is in play there ?
Is it the original fuel cap and everything underneath has been replaced ?..(That should start a conversation…)

What is the highest mileage Norge KNOWN to exist out there and what’s it’s history ?

You have done well master. You have the most miles on a Norge that I am aware of. Concerning GuzzI's I know of a T-3 that broke 500,000 miles and a California II that the original owner put over 350,000 miles. They will run the distance with reasonable care.

I think that the reality is this..
While I was putting 200,000 on my Norge, there were many guys out there putting 200,000 on multiple bikes. I owned a Triumph Sprint ST with 40,000 k when I got the Norge and sold it @ 75,000.
I now have 30,000 on my V85.
Also my Australia trip on the Honda 110 was 20,000
Point is, that’s 85,000 that I’ve NOT put on the Norge, it would be at 285,000 if I’d not owned those bikes. There are lots and lots of riders doing more distance than me, I just do it predominantly on one bike.
If credit is due in any way to me, it is only that I maintain the bike properly both pre emptively and routinely and ride it well within it’s scope and have as yet not crashed it.

I am just starting to wonder where it will start to falter.
It’ll be getting a new oil pump and timing gears when I get home, (it is a red ‘07 and not a long way from the suspect period…), I did a new camchain 40,000 k back.
The front rotors are original as are the fork seals.
Heads have never been off.
Original clutch.
Brake hydraulics never replaced.

They are fabulously solid bikes, that’s where the real kudos sits most comfortably

200,000 on the original clutch, that's impressive in itself.  Some people just know how to treat clutches and some just really don't . Longevity is all about preemptive and scheduled  maintenance. Nice job of it Huzo

I've been meaning to ask about this.
Do people "feather" each gear change or just let the lever go.
I mean when up to speed and not from stopped state.
