DNA air filter.

About two weeks ago I was reading on this site about changing the spark plugs every 6000 miles .    Well , i checked my valves after the 600 mile break-in ... and had the plugs out at the time.    Everything was alright so I've left things alone and enjoyed ridding ever since . 
 
Now at 25,000 + miles I read that plugs need changing at 6000.
So , I checked the valves again with pulling the plugs again - left them a little loose at .010 and .012  instead of .006 and .008 ( they still don't rattle ) .
The plugs looked fine but I got new iridium plugs anyway (one range hotter-for the winter) and also a new air filter (DNA).

My 2016 V7 runs stronger than I think it ever has ! :grin:
I did all the "Fixing" at the same so I don't what did the most good ?   

Anybody else done any of the above ?

Myself and several other Royal Enfield Meteor owners have installed a DNA filter and in my case, an airbox cover with a venturi rather than the stock snorkel.  The shared verdict seems to be better acceleration and hill climbing right up to the electronic speed limiter (74mph on the Meteor,) at the cost of more intake noise. Some didn't think the gain was worth the noise.  :wink:

I'm  an Enfield ridder also.   Yes !!  modest increase in get-up and GO !   I'm thinking the one range HOTTER Plug for the Meteor too ? 

That same combo sure made the V7II noticeable Quicker  More so than the Meteor and DNA only !   :smiley:

I don’t know about the fixes . But I have noticed my V7II @ 20k Mi. Runs much better than it did when new . The gearbox being the biggest improvement,. I noticed as miles accumulated it shifted better & neutral became easier to find . As for the engine it also seemed to improve around 15k Mi.
My previous experience with BMW’s I noticed the same quirk . It has been suggested to me that @ about that mileage there is a slight mapping change as the engine is completely bedded in , this came from some folks who understand newer engine management much better than I . It also has somthing to do w/euro specs. Too .
I’m also noticing a similar situation with my V7/850 . @ 9k Mi. It’s shifting much better , especially finding neutral. The motor also seems to be improving, less oil use , slightly smoother too .
I don’t think I’ll hit 15k this year as it’s about to get icy in the very near future here .
