rim hub swap
« on: February 19, 2023, 06:39:40 PM »
ok, I've got a 17inch cali vintage spoked rear wheel

and an 18inch front from the same model, both sitting around in my garage,

what I really want for (another project) is a 17 inch front,

Is there any way I can swap them around? will the spokes from the 17 incher fit into the 1_inch front hub???

Can't quite get my head around it, so any info would be very welcome

I would think that the hubs would need to be the same diameter for the spokes to fit, or the holes offset differently.

Lay the 17 wheel over the 18 and see how they line up.

on closer inspection, hubs are wildly different sizes... and rrear rim will be much too wide to use front anyway.... maybe I'll take the hub to a professional who can lace it up to a brand new 17inch rim but it'll be $$$$$££££
