Amazon MMG tires
« on: April 08, 2023, 11:24:57 AM »

Greetings All!

Normally I use Avon tires for my V7II but saw a MMG brand on Amazon for about $98.

Just wondered if anyone has used the MMG brand or has heard anything about them.

The price difference of $146 for the Avon vs $98 for the MMG is intriguing..Guzzi content!

Just curious,

I just bought a set of Pirelli Angel ST's on amazon for $209.00 and they asre pretty fresh with 2022 and 2021 manufacturing dates.

I can't find jack squat concerning MMG tires. looks like they stamp their brand on tires, batteries, helmets etc. I wouldn't put them on my bike.

If you want to save $, then look at Shinkos.

Found the MMG website and seems like they do a lot of tractor items.

Looks like a nice family run company but I will stay with my Avon's...if I can find the size!

Thanks Turin for your opinion you know the old saying "you get what you pay for!"

I'll stay with what has worked for me.

I saw a few different MMG websites. Some sold tires, but not THOSE tires. I investigated to satisfy my own curiosity, and found a thread on an Ural forum that had a less than glowing review.

I checked out their website, lots of scooter and ATV tires. I didn't see any that would fit my bikes but I didn't go through all of theme. I didn't see a search function for size but probably there somewhere. I will also probably stick with Avons but they are getting hard to find. There has been talk of Avon being bought out but I don't remember by whom. Cooper tires too, another favorite of mine. Rant: I am sick and tired of big companies sucking up all the competition. Rant over.

One thing I'm glad to spend money on is tires.

The '04 California just got a set of Michelin Road Classics.

Not cheap, but exceptional tires.

For a more economical tire I prefer Shinko as I have used them for a couple decades now.
I’ve never had a bad one and have always gotten good Preformance and mileage at a very reasonable price however they have gone up significantly in the past couple years. However still half the price of the more popular Preformance brands.

+1 on the Shinkos. Used to be Bridgestone tires. Have used them for years w/o issue. I ordered my Pirelli's on Amazon at a price better than anywhere else. Just be sure to check the mfr data to make sure you're not getting old/stale tires. Mine were fine - only 2 mo old when delivered.
