When I was 12, I really lusted after one of these - TACO 22 minibike...

But then, at age 14, I bought a used 1965 Yamaha YG1-K for $100...my first "REAL" motorcycle....and I was very happy! :thumb: :boozing:

My first motorcycle was a bright yellow 1964 YG1T. Very much like yours, a couple of minor differences. I put 17,000 on that little bike.

When I was a kid I didn't even know what a motorcycle was. Wouldn't have been able to name even one. I wanted a Ferrari. LOL

An enduro bike.  They were more expensive than street bikes so didn't get one until I was in my 40s and could afford more than one bike.

I would have traded my left one for one of these.

And that’s when they were still connected and in regular use…!

At age 17, I bought my first "new" motorcycle.  1971 Yamaha RT1-B.  Big bore, 2-stroke enduro!

At the time, the cost was $995, I put $200 down, and my dad co-signed a loan for $800+.  I washed dishes on weekends at a local restaurant in Rhinebeck, NY for almost 2 years to pay it off, but I was on top of the world with my new bike!

When I was a kid I didn't know what I wanted...still don't but I wouldn't mind having whatever HD that thing is with less radical pipes & hbar.
Also, in some respects it doesn't surprise me that it would start on the first kick after the mag is ungrounded and maybe some fresh fuel.  Weren't those things made to run on crap gas??!!
