Do Guzzi ever use all metal fuel filter around 2011?
« on: June 26, 2023, 12:30:35 PM »
I was replacing the fuel and air filter as part of my 2011 V7 racer maintenance and out of my expectation I found an all metal Mahle KL145 filter dated 11 May that comes with the bike.  I bought the bike brand new from the dealership (Valley Yamaha in Chilliwack, BC Canada) back then and never have a fuel filter fail in the past 13 years of my ownership. Just out of curiosity if anyone knows did Moto Guzzi use an all metal filer some time around 2011 or if the dealership I bough the bike from replaced that as part of the PDI? it does use those oetiker hose clamps so I kinda think its installed in the factory. no one other than myself ever work on the bike except the 1st service which also perform by the same dealer back in 2011. Unfortunately the place I bought the bike from is no longer around or else I would call to find out.

If you got a metal one was a crap shoot back then but some had them new. Most V7 range was the cheap one. Dealer could have changed it also, not wanting issues.
