I am looking to replace both front brake rotors on my V65. The original discs seem to be of poor quality. The replacement discs seem to be of poorer quality (and they are expensive if they are available). I was wondering if anyone has tried to use the rear disc of a current V7 as a replacement for the front brake rotors of a V65. As far as I can tell outside diameter and mounting method may be a match. The V7 disc is not sufficiently dished and the disc itself is slightly thinner, but this could possibly be shimmed.
Anybody tried this already? Any other alternatives to the stock V65 discs?

So since this did not work out as expected, would there be a owner of a contemporary V7 I, II, III that has access to a rear brake rotor. According to the Guzzi parts website this would be part # 887448, which seems to fit a bunch of V7's, V9's and a few other odd things.
I am interested in two dimensions of that rotor:
- Bolt pattern (center to center - see drawing)
- Dish (distance flange/hub interface to outside of disc (or however you are able to take that measurement, just explain how))

Thanks for your help, Patrick
