V Belt width for loops
« on: August 30, 2023, 12:42:37 AM »
Moto Guzzi original Belt width was 10mm , I see on Greg's belt cross reference site where 11mm belts are listed and obviously they will sit higher in the pulley , Im due for a new belt and have been using 10mm Pirelli belt thats served well however 11mm belts are easier to come by and cheaper , crank pulley shows an age related  wear pattern from the 10mm belt and the 11mm might sit up on un worn surface and be a good thing . whats  every one doing 10 or 11mm . Thanks Ray

I use whatever is available when I need one, that fits. 10 mm is optimal, the two top timing cover bolts may contact an 11 mm.
