Yea most of our members here grew up with Jimmy and regardless of our choice of music, country, rock, blues, his music was part of our culture of the love of motorcycles.
God speed Mr Margaritaville.

While I was only so-so with Jimmy, my wife is a BIG Parrothead.  I took her to see him in concert in Atlanta way back in 2007.   Sad day for her.  She's been watching old Jimmy Buffett interviews on YouTube all day.

Happy, funny positive music helped me thru some tough times in the last few years.  He built an empire based on that niche. No one is immune to the ravages of time--

I was surprised at how young he was. He seemed old to me when I saw him in concert 30 years ago.

I don't know who this Buffett cat is, but I feel your pain even though you didn't show remorse when Vanessa del Rio died.

Yes, very sad day.  I did enjoy his music/songs.  He had both happy party songs and more serious contemplative songs...I can relate especially "A Pirate Looks at 50..."  Although this pirate is looking at 68...
I remember working his concerts at Shoreline, I never seen so many drunk/stoned people...but all were having a good time...

RIP Jimmy!

His song "Death of an unpopular poet" and "They don't dance like Carmen no more" are two of my all time faves! Oh, and "why don't we get drunk and screw"  :thumb:

He wrote a very entertaining autobiography, seemed like a decent human being despite being a celebrity.
