Quota as a sidecar tug?

Hello Folks, what do you guys think of using a quota as a sidecar tug?  I have been wanting to build an off road capable sidecar rig, and  wonder if it would be a good choice? Any opinions and suggestions much appreciated. The sidecar I am wanting to use is a DMC M 72, that I currently have on a 98 EV.

The Quote will make a fine tug as long a the tub is matched to it. You'll have to take into consideration the LT suspension and deal with it on the hack. When Claude Stanley made up my DR650/Velorex 562 rig he said he would not sell a LT rig unless it had a sway bar to tie the rear of the bike suspension to the tub's wheel. It was quick decouple if going offroad and wanting all the suspensions to operate independent.  On pavement you want them tied together. Claude was right and itr worked a treat. Very stable rig on pavement.

Yes, I have read wonderful things about Claudes sway bars. they are really supposed to improve a rigs handling.

I would also be concerned with the strength of a wire spoked rear wheel, given the side forces having a sidecar mounted to a motorcycle creates.  The Quota is tall for a sidecar rig, might not be the best choice.

Spoke wheels are a non-issue. Lots of GS/GSA's tugs with wire wheels.

Quota's are plenty beefy. Someone once said the frame looks like the arm off of a fiat dump truck.  Are you looking at that red one on craigslist? I've seen it in person and it's nice enough.

Yes Turin, I am looking at the red one on CL. Looks like a nice bike. Its good to know the frame on the quota is sturdy.

Spuddy in MT has one as a hack tug.  I saw it in Coeur D' Alene.  Matching paint.  Nice looking hack.  Not sure if he off-rode with it.  Maybe he'll respond.

The bike on craigslist was owned by local Guzzi / Alfa guy Alan Headly that passed away this fall. His sister sent his stuff out to auction including this Quota and a Cali EV. I threw a couple of bids at it to make sure it wouldn't go too cheap. ( still went cheap)
The quota looked good in person.  Probably could use tires. The seller is not a Guzzi guy. My guess is he might have gotten turned off by the tractor like qualities we enjoy.
