1979 cx100
« on: January 08, 2024, 02:01:30 PM »
I am in the process of installing a new seal in the rear drive. I have two Moto Guzzi manuals and both say to "remove the cover plate". Anyone have a trick for this? I took a small lead hammer and tapped it a few times to no avail. I don't want to force anything under the lip, at least not yet.

Never mind…you’re working on #41?

Yes, in my cx100 parts manual it is #41  17 35 04 00 flange. Held with 8 bolts and locking tab plates. In my Moto Guzzi 1000sp service manual it states remove cover. I have the older manual for the v7, it says the same. Can I replace the seal without removing the plate?

Yes, you can replace the large seal without removing the flange/plate.
