Well, after having my V100S for 6,000 miles so far, I'm not sure I want to hear that push rod valve system tap, tap tapping anymore. The end video shot of it starting sounds just like my 1992 R100RT. Great period piece but man, the new V100S engine is so sweet. It whirrs so quietly. Nostalgia is best taken in smaller doses for me. Like sugar, it is sweetest at the first bite.

For me, I'll gladly take the Old Iron. Wont suffer Tupperware.

My question, is what is with the Blue bike. Like the color, but in all these years, I don't recall ever seeing one. Even a picture. Or really hearing of such. Green with red frame, green with black, red with black, red with silver, black with black. But never blue. Maybe just a Dutch version or Importer request????? Please educate me. Anyone know?

I'm with you there.
And valve noise? I've never been unhappy with tappet noise - that's a new one on me.

According to the advert, they are saying it is an original color.  Mmm.

I wondered the same thing, with video saying that color was original.  Not sure I’ve ever seen any guzzi of that era painted that color blue, even on the smaller models.

It may have been ordered & sold in blue by the dealership, who had the tank and toolboxes painted to make the sale.  That wouldn’t surprise me.  It wasn’t a cheap bike in the first place.  if a paying customer was willing to spend even more for one-off custom paint on his brand new bike,  that makes sense.

Edit. But, maybe that blue was in the MG portfolio.  a quick google shows what is claimed as a 1974 125 with the same blue…

At a minimum the mufflers, shocks and seat cover are not originals.  I would bet my 401K that the tins were re-painted to the owners preference at the time the bike was "restored".

You’re probably right, Dave.  It’s not the only incorrect detail on the “restoration.”

Whatever the explanation, it’s not a color that I like on that bike…

I get the availability of things like the original shocks, and decent shark gill mufflers make for using re pops, or current production, at least the Lafranconis are a period correct mod, and the 7810 Ikons are excellent bits. I'd hope the shark gills on the green bike are at least the Stucchi re pops from some years back, maybe they got lucky and got a decent pair of the usually junk Bussos. The seats look to me to be the currently available re pops too. And they could use one of Alan's electrovalve petcocks on the blue one. No signals is interesting.

While I am generally going to give Teo Lamers the benefit of the doubt on all things Guzzi, I'd think that color Sport would have shown up before. They call it unique and rare, "the needle in the haystack", "the original blue color". I gotta go with Dave's owners custom color call, maybe Teo's gang is fudging things. I'd happily be called wrong on that color, just to know something new.

Oh, and while nice bikes one way or the other, $27 large is um, a bit much:

What a great offering of new and old Guzzi's. I looked at a couple other videos, and they do a great job with the information. Wish we had a dealership like this in the US.

These prices raise eyebrows for a V7 Sport, but there would be a huge stampede to a 74 Ducati 750SS for those prices.   To me a 73 V7 Sport has all the charm, performance and desirability of the 750SS.  And I think the Guzzi has much better lines.

At one time I had two pairs of spare original V7 Sport tool boxes, one set was copper coloured the other the dark blue like the bike in the TLM video. Europe got colours that Berliner did not import. I had bought both pairs of the used tool boxes from Europe.

I know very little about these bikes, but it seems like Guzzi made the Green, plus a Red and a Black version. I found just two blue V7 Sport on google, this, which looks like it could have been made at the factory

https://www.madeinitalymotorcycles.com/post/2017/08/01/moto-guzzi-v-7-sport

and the one from the Netherlands we saw in the video, that does not look factory to me
