favorite vendors
« on: February 20, 2024, 07:21:56 PM »

The first one I would like to learn about is, does anyone have a favorite vendor for specialized fasteners.  Specifically, I am interested in top hat, or stepped washers.  You know, like the ones often used to attach body work that allow you to tighten the bolt, but not crush the bodywork in the process.

Next one, how about spacers, bronze, steel, aluminum, etc.

thanks in advance!

This supplier is reasonably priced and has a huge selection.

https://boltdepot.com/

McMaster Carr is a good source, but more expensive, but has a wider variety of hardware, tools and misc. supplies.

Ebay has everything.

The next one...McMaster Carr has a good selection of spacers. Sometimes you have to search for spacers, or bushings, or stand offs depending on the type of spacer you need. I needed some 6mmID to 8mmOD spacers. I found what I was looking for under tubing. Also look at the rain forest or the bay of fleas if you know exactly what your looking for.

I would like to know about the stepped washers as well.
