Spring in February

We’ve had a very gentle winter here in New England, and the little snow we’ve had (at least in the south) is on the melt this week. So this afternoon, I couldn’t resist the temptation to fire up the Guzzi and go for a little loop down to the beach. Behold, the Snownello:



And while this was a first, had to navigate a mini snow bank getting in and out of the garage.

Same here in Ohio. Been sneaking off when it is 50F or warmer. So strange but fun. Makes the winter seem less intrusive. But, watch the corners, ours are filled with sande or piles of salt reasdy to change yor cornering plans. I've probably gone 1,000 miles in January plus February so far! I did find my comfort level deteriorates blow 50F too much. At or above 50F I can keep on keeping on with the hand grips turned on. I'm not an iron man below 50F that's for sure anymore. Or maybe, I don't have to be.

I used to ride my Kawasaki F11 250 CC  at -40F in the winter at Purdue University and all around town. 32 F felt like a heat wave! The damn thing alwayd started so no excuse to not ride the bike and skip the bus. I could go about 10 miles at -40F to the MC parking nearest the class building. I went as fast as I wanted to fall. Worse, there were several of us idiots riding like that!

Here in the Southwest, we were supposed to have a very "WET WINTER"...but that didn't happen...Oh well, that's the cycle of the seasons...

By the way, I used to live in New Milford and Danbury, so why is Connecticut called "The Land of Steady Habits"...never heard that one before....

72 degrees on Feb 26th here!!!  Brought my old girl out and did about a 100 miles on central Kentucky and southern Indiana back rooads, stopped by the river for some pics!!  Spring fever WAY to early haa haa

It was wondeful for the soul!

Finally, a local author wrote a decent (but kind of depressing) modern novel based on that theme and title. It takes place in my town (Westport) but the steady habits seem to be…substance abuse and infidelity!

Just drove from Cleveland Tn to Green Bay Wisconsin.  It’s 69 degrees here!!!  In February!  High tomorrow is 21 with snow.  Lol
