V85TT headlight wiring entry.
« on: May 18, 2024, 12:39:17 AM »
Hi all...removing headlight as part of another job and found the wiring entry with no cover etc other than this setup. Am I wrong or has it has been assembled with the sealing plug arse about?...or I have lost something. Does anyone have a pic of their headlight for comparison. Very difficult to see unless it has been removed from bike. Thanks for any info.

Sure looks arse about. Probly a pain to turn around unless you slit it.  :gotpics:

After finally comparing to a new OEM part, able to confirm sealing grommet was made up in reverse. Unfixable as it is, so just taped the entry area up well. Contacted MG Aus and awaiting their response...expect to not get much love for out of warranty bike.  :thewife:

Can you cut it at an angle and turn it around then glue the cut? Like you would do with a grommit that you forgot to put on a wiring harness. If the wires are potted in the thing that wouldn’t work.

Yes, Im sure I could John. I just didn't want to butcher it incase they come to the party and said they would replace. Put it all back in with tape for now. Next time I pull it out will do something like you have suggested. Just terrible they would assemble from factory like this.
