6-Stroke anyone?

I thought this was a pretty interesting concept just patented by Porsche. I don't know if it would ever make its way to motorcycles, but who knows.

That one made my brain hurt a little.
Their next announcement will be that it only runs on that synthetic fuel they're making in South America.

Very clever; wonder what Mr. Moleev (author of text book on internal combustion engineering) would have to say about this??? As his student I find it quite interesting. Unlike the bright young man in the video, I think it is more mechanically complex than will be acceptable as a production engine???

Some engineer was thinking way to far, but interesting. Will it work though or will parts fail because of complexity.

Probably another example of German over-engineering, where the engineers are the good idea fairies, and the mechanics just shake their heads "no"...like the brilliant Audi engineers who thought it was a good idea to put the timing chain on the BACK of the engine...

I don't know, it all looks fairly simple to do. I'd really like to see a prototype and see real end result and how it impacts size and weight and ultimately performance. And at scale. Maybe it could benefit future motorcycle design without adding to much weight. I like seeing that someone is still thinking outside the box to tweak current ICE designs.
