The fact that you are not filing for bodily injury or rehabilitation services probably made the insurance company glad for a quick settlement. I'm sure part of the deal includes your signature freeing them from any further financial responsibility.

The bodily-injury adjuster offered me $500 for "pain and suffering" before I saw a doctor, which I allowed to expire un-signed. I was kinda miffed at such a small #, but in retrospect, I wish I'd gone ahead and taken it, because I have to pay whatever my ins co will charge for an MRI on my knee that is hurting, and who knows what the ins co will do with THAT assessment, so it's just a PIA and I wish I'd taken their offer. Now they say they need to see the results of the Dr. visit before proceeding. I admit I'm an amateur at claims like this, could've probably played my hand a little better.

Glad you are okay and on the near death experience let it go. You'll never know why you survived only that you did and that's good enough. I was given this very advice a couple years back and it has proven to be very valuable.

Talk to a lawyer, you won’t know what the insurer will pay otherwise.I used to have prospective clients ask if they could handle their case themselves.I told them it depends on how good of a lawyer they were.

I talked to 2 lawyer friends, one an avid motorcyclist who has represented on both sides of similar episodes, and neither one hinted that I had good grounds to claim significant P & S compensation, since I appeared to be fine. I suppose if I hired one of them to write a letter on my behalf....

I’d try Russ Brown https://russbrown.com/nationwide/
I met him at a motorcycle show in Dallas in ‘82 when he was first starting his organization, it was called Bikers against Manslaughter then. He has a group of lawyers that specialize in motorcycle accidents. I’ve used him a couple of times and if there is any money to be had , they will find it even when the offending party has no insurance . They put the squeeze on a dirtbag that purposely ran me off the road, he didn’t have insurance but they got the court to order restitution. Then the state paid me and the dirtbag pays the state. I got a new bike out of it although I’m twisted from the injury. I learned how important it is to have uninsured/ underinsured motorist coverage on a motorcycle. If there had been insurance, the lawyer said we’d be splitting up a couple hundred thousand.
