T tail light wiring.
« on: September 21, 2024, 01:43:57 AM »
I forgot to record how the wiring for the tail light and left hand indicator are tracked. Can see the saddles under the guard at midpoint and rear but not sure how it starts off from the main loom to get there.
Also should the connections for the tail light be packed behind it or under the guard?
Cheers.

Thanks Frozengoose, I have the wiring diagram but what I am really after is a picture or description on how the tail light cable is laid going to the lights. At some point its inside the LH side of the rear guard but not sure how its best to do this.

I thought there were tabs on inside of LH side and a hole w/grommet in it for loom to get in. Can't remember but some models then just wrapped around to enter in front. There should be tabs though to hold loom on side of fender.

Here's some pics of the tail light wiring. Just stuck the camera under the fender, so not great. First is where the wires come out of the tail light base, thru a grommeted whole in the fender. Second is the wires heading over the fender behind the tool box. Didn't think to get more pics, but not sure you can see much without removing the sheet metal. The turn signal wires are separate and follow the respective sides of the subframe.

I can't remember this for sure. Didn't a wire run down inside/under each of the rear frame tubes, with a female bullet type connector, to mate with the male connector from the turn signal? The pigtail from the signal with the male, would thread down between the fender and frame tube (or just kind of wrap around below them), around where the seat rail bolted to the frame rail. The signal of course, mounted to said seat rail. The individual signal wires started in the area of the fuse box, where the flasher was located. I think.

Cheers.
