New shocks for V7 850 Advice please
« on: February 16, 2025, 07:20:12 PM »
HI, I did the Matris fork kit upgrade for my 2024 Corsa and they are fantastic, but now the rear shocks, which were previously OK, feel rather limited. I am looking into Matris shocks, around $900. Shock Factory, around $550 and Bitubo, $400ish. Does anyone have any experience with any of these? My wife would tell me to get the Matris, as the quality will be worth it, and she is probably right. Looking for other advice. Thanks!

I’ve had good experiences with ICON shocks . They are on my V7 Mk II & V7/850 . Roger @ ICON was very helpful choosing the proper springs for the 850 as it was one of the early ones . I’ve no connection to ICON other than being a satisfied customer

If you were just running upgraded fork springs or fork oil, I'd say go with a set of Ikons or Hagons. They are generally better than stock, and reasonably priced.

HOWEVER, you already have the Matris kit in the forks, buy the matching rear Matris shocks sprung for your weight situation........

I have the shock factory on my v7III. A very good product built for your specs. I also have one on my V85. Also great.
I have Wilbers on my v7II. Very nice but pricey.
I'd do the Matris or shock factory but I'd also get them 10-20MM longer than stock.
