Claimed 67 horsepower, and yet Guzzi's V85TT with the same sized 850cc engine makes 80 hp.
Yup. We've been down this road before.
Though this is the closest the V7 motor has been to the V85 (finally sharing the larger throttle body), they are still different motors in terms of at least the valve train and lubrication systems.
And from a marketing perspective it likely doesn't make sense to give a bike that is ~1/3 cheaper in price the same performance as one that is more expensive in the same lineup.
I would also speculate the differences in tune/feel may also speak to the somewhat different purposes of the two bikes.
