It was the Best of Trips, it was the Worst of Trips
« on: July 02, 2025, 04:11:59 PM »
Just a few pics from my recent visit to Germany and Switzerland.  While I was on a rented BMW, I did see many newer Moto Guzzi V100 Mandellos on the road.  That distinctive headlight is hard to miss. The trip was fantastic.  Right up until Delta canceled my return flight and stranded me in Germany for an extra day and a half.  :violent1: My non-stop now consisted of changing planes in Chicago and trapesing all over the airport to find my connecting flight to Atlanta. Oh well, I (and my luggage) did make it back in one piece, if completely sleep deprived. (Me, not the luggage!) Thats about all you can hope for from the airlines these days.

Nice pics Mike.  Glad you had a nice time other than the return flight(s).

For anyone considering riding in Europe I say go for it.  I got into it far too late, had I known what I was missing I would have started going over there several years sooner.  While the easy way is to book a guided tour with one of the many companies that offer them, that is also the most expensive way.  On this trip, I planned out all the routes in Switzerland using John Herman's book, "Motorcycle Journeys Through the Alps and Beyond."  It's the bible for an American riding a motorcycle in the Alps.  Europe is much more "motorcycle-centric" than the US and they are everywhere.  I sure hope I can go back again next year.
