NGK BP7ES Availability

Wondering if anyone knows of a source for the NGK BP7ES
I Know that they are no longer being manufactured but my '78 Lemans was not happy with the the resister variation that has taken its place.
I see some being offered on Ebay..anyone had any experience with a reliable vendor?

Try Champion N7YC, works well for me. I use them in my EV also.

If using BPR7ES plugs you want strait caps no resistor in them, then only 1 resistor.

After getting a few bad (genuine) NGKs, I switched to Denso spark plugs, the W22EP-U is the BP7ES equivalent.

Yeah, there are a bunch of Youtube videos on how to spot the fake NGK's.

They're still available, under NGK's new model number 2412 (often, with both numbers on the packaging).

But as folks have noted, there are a LOT of counterfeits out there, some quite good (in terms of difficulty of detection).  Ohm them out and they're all over the map; I've had some read 15-25K ohms right out of the box.

I too have switched, reluctantly, to Densos.

Maybe nothing. Maybe a piece will drop into the combustion chamber. Maybe they will just stop working 1,200 miles from home. Maybe one will go intermittent and drive a mechanic insane chasing the problem.

Reputable factory products have a fair amount of research, engineering and quality control backing them up. Plugs are really inexpensive. I'd rather use the product that is invested in preserving its reputation. Especially when the forgers try to capitalize on the trademark of the reputable product as if it was their own.

I've gotten obsolete plugs from Ebay, esp. when looking for specific values that are hard to get.  Never had a problem w fakes, but I'll keep an eye out for it.
