Wiring diagram required for '68 V7
« on: August 31, 2025, 09:41:17 AM »
Greetings ladies and gents.  I am still ongoing with the electrics on my V7.  I have come across many variations online as to the correct wiring diagram.  I put this one out to you for any input of interest.  I know what I am going to do, but thought it may interest some others out there.  This is a photo of the contents of my headlamp, you should spot that there doesn't appear to be, or ever had, a distributing block. (There are no tell tale holes for the bracket).  Has anyone seen a wiring diagram that fits my set-up?

I have 3 V700's all have what you have, that is the distribution block. Unless you mean the panel on the bottom that Ambo's & Eldo's have. I better go look, they use the switch to distribute most power and not fuse board.

Spoke too soon. 2 of them all apart & buckets have board on bottom of bucket & are connected to a 90* tab riveted to bottom w/tab under bucket that connects rim. So a tab on outside & inside holds the panel. I use the diagram in the orange book on back page for USA models.

Thank you very much for that 'new' diagram.  I don't, as yet, have much by way of literature on Guzzi's so every day is a learning day so it very much appreciated.  I will have to do a wider online search for the manual you refer to,

It might be helpful to add your location. There are sometimes differences in models, US vs. rest of the world.

Your headlight bucket does indeed have the attachment point for the terminal block/distribution panel - there's a ground wire attached to it in your photo.

Yes, England.  But the bike started its working life in South Africa with the police force there.  My bad not spotting the re-use of the bracket :-( it seems like I will be having fun getting hold of a new board, but I will solve it.

If you can't find a 'board over there, let me know - I have a few good used ones.
