another camchain tensioner?
« on: December 05, 2025, 07:35:58 AM »
Was just looking at different crankcases for a future build and this popped up.... ad says its from a 2007 california.

my question is what the H is that pin? looks like its supposed to hold a chain tensioner arm, but none the ones i know of....

any insights? looks like a healthy pivot!

Yes, the pin is for the original tensioner, #17 in this illustration.

thnxs, but mmm...i have that one with the little plastic slider and it attaches to a separate flimsy bracket. also the spring uses a slot in the pivot as anchor.

see pic

and in your pic I cant even see that little shaft sticking out... would expect that to show, but i might be wrong

So you say it now attaches to a pin on a boss rather than bracket?

mistery

Not sure what your plan is. Note the newer crankcase does not have the crankcase vent in the back and has the large timing sensor hole on the top left.
