CALVIN SCREEN REMOVAL
« on: February 23, 2026, 10:53:37 PM »
My quest to improve the handling of my 2009 california vintage has progressed.
I changed the rear shocks to IKONS and dropped the front forks 20mm in the tree, this alone made a great difference but still had some stability issues at speed, 130kmh to 160kmh.
So I removed the front screen, this eliminated all wander and bike is now stable at speed, in short it handles like a tonti frame Guzzi should. I realise this is a trade off from some protection but well worth it in my opinion.

Now find an air friendly screen, they are out there. There is a mfg in N GA, knows his stuff.

Apparently no one at Moto Guzzi has much idea or knowledge about airflow and/or aerodynamics. So much for the old wind tunnel. They’re mostly awful with windshields and such.

I guess this makes since if one’s plans are to spend the majority of their ridding time at 80 to 100 mph. 🤔
