Throttle body bypass
« on: April 27, 2026, 01:36:31 PM »
I'm working with a 2001 California Special however many V 11 engines use the same throttle bodies. Okay now what I need is an air bypass adjustment screw. One is lost and gone forever.
I can't find it listed as an individual part. Thank you for your time.

What would I have to do to get it out of your hands and into mine? you could be a life saver.

Found it! All I need is your address (in a PM) and I'll get it out tomorrow.

Helping hands one has to love it. Pulled someone out of a jam and no questions asked. This is what camaraderie and friendships are built upon. :thumb:

should have posted last week. great big SHOUT OUT to ANTIETAM CLASSIC CYCLE and CHARLES D MULLENDORE.
I asked for an unobtainable part Charles went out of his way sending me the part. Never seen the man or his shop.
You can bet if I'm ever in his part of the country I'll make it a point to stop buy with a cold 12 pack.

now if I could get this thing to run right. A lot of intake back fire. Seems to be getting worse all the time. Valves set compression not bad for 70k miles.
Timing chain seem tight. can't get vacuum to balance perfectly but real close. intake rubbers new last year and tight. can't detect any vacuum leak at the intake.
New fuel filter today. Pulled the throttle body assy. so I could get things messed up good and proper. Just can't come across what the devil might be causing this.
Any light on this subject will be appreciated. Thanks. I am not a computer wiz so I don't have anything that involves a computer to help with this bugger.

Have you replaced the TPS? If not do it. Search here for substitutes and info.

Many of the throttle bodies had the cup seals on the butterfly shft installed backwards.  Causing them to bleed air into the body and a lean mixture that is not consistant.
