2026 IL, Bring Your Own Camp Out May:15-17
« on: April 14, 2026, 04:44:01 PM »
This is a laid back Guzzi affair for those who like to camp out for a night or two, have good safe fun and enjoy life.  Located along the eastern bank of Old Man River, in Northern IL, 45 miles south of the Quad Cites.   Camping is on lovely soft sandy ground, that won't pool or flood no matter how much rain might try, protected from weather by stately swaying pines.  Electricity, water, are available and accessible.  It's bring your own everything (except morning coffee will be available each day at no cost!) so pack as needed.  Grocery store, bars and supplies are just a few short miles away.  Camping is less than $10 a night, and free to those 62 and over.  You don't have to ride a Guzzi, inferior brands are always welcome.  It's a great way kick off summer!

I can’t make it from Tennessee to there as I’m busy with getting my cabin prepared to sell, but hope everyone has a good time!

I reside nearbye in flyover country, but unfortunately it's DGR weekend and I'm part of the team...

Have always wanted to take this one in. Andy and Mary always have great things to say about it, and it's not that far off. I hope the weather and the company doesn't disappoint.

Thanks for sharing!!

15-16 overnight campers.  A big thanks to Ron Tinkham(spelling?)! He provided a coffee maker and visited everyday.
The gnats and mosquitos were bearable. Plenty of hilarious campfire debates (BS) interrupted only by late night rains.

I grabbed this pic from Oz's FB page.  The "Quiet Zone", Bruce Oswald (WI), in person, with C.Coli's sidecar and my CalVin in the background.
