A group of us in Southwest Missouri are organizing something truly unique to celebrate America's 250th birthday.

On July 4th, we're hosting a cross-county, speed-limit parade through McDonald County, Missouri. The procession will be led by law enforcement, followed by fire trucks, motorcycles, and then all other participating vehicles.

The event was only announced yesterday, and more than 200 people have already responded. If participation continues at this pace, this could become one of the most memorable community celebrations our area has ever seen.

Based on the research I've done so far, I haven't found any record of a parade quite like this being held anywhere else.

Participants will begin lining up in Anderson, Missouri at the High School, at 9:30 a.m. on July 4th. The parade will depart at 10:00 a.m. and travel approximately 80 miles across McDonald County while maintaining normal posted speed limits. We'll end at a very nice Town Hole area for lunch, entertainment, etc. This is a no cost event. The only cost would be what you purchase for lunch at the end.

If you're anywhere in the Southwest Missouri region, you're invited to join us. This event is open to all street-legal vehicles capable of operating at posted speed limits. Whether you bring a motorcycle, classic car, truck, Jeep, or your daily driver, we'd love to have you be part of this historic celebration.

As for me, I'll probably be riding my motorcycle in the parade—unless I end up in the lead vehicle helping guide the route.

Come celebrate America's 250th birthday and help make history with us. Below are some links to the event and the flyer.
