Piaggio , spoke wheels made of ?
« on: July 09, 2026, 03:21:50 AM »
Hello guys,
Yesterday I was riding with a friend, not lucky enough to ride a Guzzi but a Tuareg(picture below).
We had a doubt and I can't get the information anywhere. What the spokes are made of, assuming Piaggio use the same across their different bikes.

Back in 2000 I know japanese were using zinc on the classic bike and the spokes were turning black overtime.

I read on some forum they are chrome plated but I don't really believe it, I guess the chrome would crack but I am not an expert.

The only option I think would be stainless so do you know if they come with higher hand stainless spokes out the factory or still galvanized ?

Thank you

The spokes on my 2012 V7R were stainless.

One could always rub the spokes down with ACF 50 a few times a year.
