I don’t find heat off the exhaust to be a problem and we do get 90 degree temps here. 96 today in fact. Only heat I feel at slower speeds off the cylinders and even that is not that bad especially at highway speeds.

Quick question on the Mistral Pipes WITH E5 Cats in the pipes. Will this create enough backpressure to not needing to refuel/map the motor?  Jury is out for me on this, but I will say that so far the V85 is the hottest of any of my Guzzi's, mainly on the right leg. I'd rather not have to mess with maps or spoofers. I like how the bike is fueled and love the power/response as is.
I used the Mistral pipes with no cats so I can't answer your "pipes with cats question". However, with no cats in the pipes there is no refuel/remap required. The bike runs better than ever with the stock mapping. There was a lot of heat coming off the OEM cat, now with only Y-pipes the temperature at the Y emits about 250F less than the OEM cat did (according to Mistral). I didn't measure it but it sure feels much cooler, especially when I'm riding with only shorts.
