Really?  I think the black one looks great!  And many people seem to like the blue.  Not sure who is buying the "camo" one though - I agree, it's a bit pukey.  For the Special, the white is a lot nicer than the Emerald.  There are colours for the Sport that look nice (the verde legnano and the red).  They grey looks like they clear-coated directly over the primer, but that colour has been popular on a lot of cars in recent years.

I am on the verge of buying a new V100 Stelvio and a large part of that motivation is that green color scheme!

"Lane Filtering" is officially recognized as such and legal in Great Britian. in fact, impeding a filtering Moto is a ticketable offense. Part of the driving education there. We just added a Welshmen to the family through marriage, and he's astounded and amused at the attitudes towards moto's here in the states. Lots of conversation around these issues has taken place. 

Prohibited in Germany, Austria, Spain and Switzerland. Other European countries allow it.

My V7 is white. The paint has a fine metallic in it. Kinda sparkles in the sun. Very nice. I tried to duplicate it in the Duplicolor catalog. One Honda color looked close but in actuality wasn't even close, had a gray tinge.

Any positive review is a good review, but this guy sounds like all the rest in that he has no real words except "characterful" to describe that unique Guzzi feel. Yes, the Tiger and Africa Twin are fine machines and probably good competitors but kind of boring to me. So, the review ends up being about twice as long as he continues to repeat the same things over and over. As for the color, I love the color personally but have never liked matte finishes. If it was shiny, my bank account would definitely be in trouble.

"Character" or related words in a review almost always translate to me as "annoying" in real world regular use.  ;) 

Engineering depart to marketing department: "We couldn't figure out how to fix this so hype it as a "feature!"

I split lanes for years in the NYC area with only one ticket and a few complaints, mostly from driver's from out of the area but get 100 miles or less out of the metro area and it was downright nasty. I've had somebody swing their tractor trailer in my path while slowly riding by in a non moving traffic jamb.  OK, your frustrated but as I told one guy who was pissed at me, "wouldn't you be happier if the 30-to 50+ cars in front of you were instantly turned into motorcycles?"  That was years ago and I would no longer engage with a driver, too dangerous, too mad and who knows what weapon they have in their vehicle.

To me it seems that drivers don't want you to get ahead of them. Especially in traffic jams.

I've noticed numerous times that when I pass a slower moving car they tend to speed up. Several times I have passed them at a rate only slightly faster than theirs. As they sped up so did I. One car I passed at slightly more than 55 mph. When he gave up keeping up with me, I was doing 80 mph. To keep accelerating, he had to push the accelerator pedal, so it wasn't being done by the car automatically. The driver was doing it.

And in practice it is done in those counties too, with the possible exception of Switzerland if a cop is actually watching.

I ride a motorcycle in US states where it’s legal, in Europe and rarely anywhere else.  The hubbub about lane splitting or filtering in many US states is foreign to me, it’s just how motorcycles are ridden and should be ridden.  I can’t imagine sitting in a line of cars on a motorcycle for no reason.  The correct reaction by car drivers is to stay out of the way and suffer with traffic, in exchange for having AC and an automatic transmission to deal with it.

In the Alps there are a lot of ad hoc traffic lights set up to regulate one way traffic while summer road repairs are completed.  Same as shown in the video in UK.  Motorcycles go to the front of the line and slide into the gap created between the barrier and first car.  When the light turns green the motorcycles disappear from the scene.  Better for the motorcycles, better for the cars.  Nobody reasonable would have a problem with it.

On topic, I rode a V100 Stelvio and was unimpressed with it.  The engine was OK, although nothing particularly special, and the chassis was loose and imprecise with poor steering neutrality on the one I rode.  He mentions this in the video.

That test review was about as opposite to your negative or luke warm opinion on the Stelvio as it could be! Lol

Opposition is absurd, in my opinion. Wonder how opposition is defended in Switzerland, when it's so common virtually everywhere else regionally. There must be something in writing somewhere. 

Worth noting, my opinion is purely intellectual as I've never ridden outside the States, and I don't attempt to filter because I'm aware of the law and the expectations of cagers. Having ridden in Chicago for years, it just seemed logical.

Agreed, and all too common with these reviewers in general.

This guy has a better formula in my opinion. Best of all, 12 minutes! Talks about the specs, makes a couple of segment comparos (he chose the Tiger 900 and MultiStrada V2) goes for a (Beautiful!) ride and signs off. Much better.

That's a pretty broad and I would say mostly inaccurate statement.

I found almost any large city has its share of either uninformed or aggressive drivers. I rarely filter or Lane split because I normally have side cases. When I used to commute to the Pentagon in Washington DC I only had a top case so I could if needed filter or lane split at traffic lights. If you're polite, drivers are usually polite. By polite I mean you're not racing through stopped traffic at 40 mph like an idiot. Grew up in NYC/Queens/Long Island, was the same.

But as a rule, it's not Something I will do regularly, and try to avoid roads where this is likely.

On the DC beltway we have groups of thugs on sport bikes who blast through traffic cut off cars at 100+ pretty irritating and unsafe. I see an accident with these chuckle heads at least 1x a month. Most rudeness from drivers is reactive to rider behavior.

None on a v100 Stelvio though.....
