Question about alternator wiring
« on: August 25, 2015, 02:42:42 PM »
Ok, so I'm building the electrical system by scratch.   On the alternator I see a D- and D+ and that's very easy, however, looking at the alternator on the right side, there are three outlets.  I've heard they originally ran yellow wires, my question is:  Is there a specific order of the three outlets, or does it even matter and the wires can be used in any order to the regulator?  Thanks,
Mom

No order. Any of the 3 can go to any of the 3 on the rectifier.

Fixed. I had just read a new section about Loop regulators on Greg Bender's website and had regulated brain cells.

Those are a/c feeds from the alternator phase windings to the rectifier.  They don't care which position they take on either end.
